About Me
I’m Ffion MacQuarrie (PGDip, MCMA, BSc, GOYA-ECYT500, CCEP, WP, CYYT, CMT, CRYT, CCYT)—a nature and holistic wellness therapist and outdoor skills teacher with over 15 years of experience in body-mind healing and nature-based practices. My journey has been deeply rooted in both traditional wisdom and modern science, bridging the gap between ancient healing techniques and contemporary understanding of well-being.
Growing up immersed in nature, I learned early on how to forage and use the natural world as food, medicine, and an integral part of daily life. Throughout my career, I’ve combined this deep connection with my professional training—bringing people closer to nature, restoring balance in their lives, and keeping the old ways alive while integrating modern therapeutic approaches.
My Mission
My goal is simple: to help people reconnect with nature and rediscover their intrinsic wildness for better physical and mental well-being. Science continues to prove what many cultures have known for centuries—nature heals. The COVID lockdowns were a stark reminder of this, showing us just how vital access to the outdoors is for our health. My own journey with significant illness has only strengthened my passion for sharing the benefits of nature-based therapies, as I’ve personally experienced their profound healing effects.
Experience & Expertise
In addition to my therapeutic qualifications, I bring extensive practical outdoor skills, land access expertise, and a professional background in rights of way management, countryside access law, and equality & diversity—particularly regarding accessibility to natural spaces. I’ve authored and contributed to numerous publications, advocating for the importance of outdoor access for all.
I’ve also spent extended periods living fully immersed in the wilderness, relying solely on nature’s resources for up to a year at a time. These experiences have given me a unique understanding of resilience, adaptability, and the deep restorative power of the natural world.
Credentials & Affiliations
I’m proud to be a member of the Complementary Medical Association, Global Online Yoga Association, the Mindfulness Teacher Register, and the UK Government’s Disability Confident Scheme. My therapy training is accredited by the Complementary Medical Association, the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, GOYA, and the Yoga Alliance. I’m also fully insured by Westminster Insurance.
