about us
Your invitation to reconnect…
“Some of us were never meant to fit into the boxes society provides. We were meant to remember what exists outside those boxes – the wild spaces, the quiet moments, the simple truths that get lost in the complexity we’ve created.”
We live in a world where movement has become optional, nature feels like a luxury, and stress masquerades as normal. We exist in a time when Nature-Deficit Disorder is recognised as a phenomenon – we’ve drifted so far from the natural world that we’ve lost touch with our own intrinsic nature. Our modern lives have gently but persistently disconnected us from what we truly need to thrive: meaningful movement, seasonal rhythms, the quiet wisdom of our own instincts.
This separation costs us more than we realise. Our mental and physical health suffers. Stress-related illnesses burden our healthcare system whilst we find ourselves reaching for medicine cabinets to mask symptoms that whisper of deeper needs unmet. Yet research confirms what many of us feel instinctively – that spending time in nature offers profound benefits for both body and mind, something so vital yet often overlooked.
True wellbeing isn’t hiding in quick fixes or temporary solutions. It lives in the rhythms and practices that have sustained human flourishing for millennia. Rewilding isn’t about abandoning modern life – it’s about reclaiming the parts of ourselves that remember how to rest deeply, move with purpose, and find genuine calm in a world that sometimes profits from keeping us restless and disconnected.

Wilderness, Re-Wilding & Digital Detox Experiences
These aren’t packaged adventure experiences or Instagram-worthy escapes. These are invitations to remember what you are beneath all the conditioning, to meet yourself properly perhaps for the first time, stripped of digital distraction and social performance.
Mind-body Wellness Classes, Workshops & Events
Every class I teach adapts to your body, your goals, and your energy on the day. This is movement led by mindfulness, not ego. The goal isn’t perfection – it’s presence. We move with awareness, tuning into the body and mind in real time, discovering your personal edge rather than forcing yourself into predetermined shapes.
Movement and stillness dance together in my teaching. Regular dynamic practice balances with deeply restorative sessions that draw from Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Qigong, breathwork, and other meditative practices. These aren’t afterthoughts or consolation prizes for those who “can’t handle” more vigorous practice – they’re essential nervous system reset buttons.

Wild Workshops
From the basics of foraging and bushcraft or cooking over a campfire, to how to preserve food, make your own remedies, or infuse a little of the wild into your home cooking.
These workshops are available in both indoor and outdoor locations.
Pre-organised & Regular Events
“Sometimes the wild calls us together, and when it does, something beautiful unfolds in the sharing.”
Whilst my primary work focuses on bespoke, private experiences crafted around individual needs, I very occasionally offer pre-organised events when the season, the skill, or the moment feels ready to be shared in community. These gatherings happen organically throughout the year – announced through email updates to subscribers, social media, and website notifications as they emerge..

Talks & Speaking
“Stories have power when they’re lived before they’re told.”
I speak about what I know intimately – the kind of knowledge that emerges from combining academic qualifications with direct, lived experience. These talks draw from both rigorous study and seasons of putting that knowledge into practice, from the theoretical foundations that inform my work and the real-world testing that reveals what actually works when theory meets reality.
Feral Therapy Books
Coming soon…
When the victim support officer told me I needed to disappear, change my name, sell my house, delete my social media, and start over completely, she suggested a women’s refuge. Instead, I chose the wilderness.
But this isn’t just a survival memoir. Woven throughout the narrative is a practical seasonal almanac, what to forage when, how to build emergency shelter from natural materials, which plants heal and which harm, how to read weather patterns and navigate by constellations. Whether you’re seeking wild living skills, bushcraft wisdom, or simply inspiration to trust your own instincts, you’ll find something here that speaks to the part of you that remembers what we are beneath all the noise.
Also coming soon…
Not just the story that led me to create Feral Therapy, but several practical guides to help you to bring the wild into your everyday life.

Accredited Teacher training courses

Ffion
founder
“When I disappeared into the wild to remember who I was, I found someone I’d forgotten existed.”
I’m Ffion – a wilderness and holistic wellness therapist, herbalist, and outdoor skills teacher whose path to healing led through the deepest woods and back again.
After surviving serious illness and the trauma of abuse, I’d lost myself so completely that I couldn’t even remember what my own voice sounded like anymore, let alone feel like I could trust again – myself or others. So I did something that worried everyone who knew me: I disappeared into the wild for a year. Alone.

Joseph
partner
While Joseph doesn’t work for Feral Therapy in the strictest sense of the word, he may accompany us on experiences, be present at events, classes, or workshops, or assist with logistics, camps, and other necessary activities that make our experiences run smoothly.

Celyn
feral Dog
My trusted companion throughout my year in the wild and beyond.
Celyn is an absolute joy to be around. She loves the outdoors, everyone she meets, and is endlessly inquisitive and consistently happy.
Celyn may join us on our experiences together if they are appropriate and safe for her and you.

Frequently Asked Questions
All experiences are completely bespoke, so there are no flat rates available to share – each journey is crafted around your specific needs, interests, and what the season offers. What I can assure you is that my charges will be very competitive. Investment varies by experience type and duration, but the focus is always on creating authentic value rather than maximising profit. We’ll discuss investment during our initial conversation once I understand what you’re looking for and what’s possible for your circumstances.
Not at all. They’re what you want them to be. If that’s a lakeside meditation or breathwork experience, yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) retreat, Shinrin Yoku (woodland “bathing”), a fire, story, or healing circle, a herbal remedy making session, or simply your first wild camp experience where we go with no other intention than to camp under the stars, these are often some of the most profound experiences.
Sometimes the most transformative moments happen when we just be rather than expect or do. There’s profound medicine in sitting quietly by moving water, in lying beneath ancient trees whilst practising deep relaxation, in gathering around fire to share stories without agenda. These gentler approaches can be just as powerful as any physical challenge – sometimes more so, because they invite us to remember what it feels like to simply exist in the natural world without constantly trying to achieve something.
Your experience shapes itself around what calls to you, whether that’s active engagement with wilderness skills or the radical act of doing absolutely nothing except being present with what is.
Safety is always the priority. There will always be a communication device available for emergencies – either a mobile phone or satellite device depending on the location. This emergency communication remains accessible at all times but will not be used for any other purpose during the experience. I’m also qualified in outdoor first aid and carry comprehensive first aid equipment. Your wellbeing matters more than any digital detox goals.
Of course – this is your experience, and you’re always free to make choices about your participation. We’ll have discussed everything at length before any payment is taken, and if things need adapting in the moment, we can work with that. However, once booked, I become committed to costs and the use of my time, so I cannot offer refunds for early departures, no-shows, or cancellations within two weeks of the experience. I may offer credit toward future experiences, but this will be at my discretion based on individual circumstances.
Yes, though what you need depends entirely on your chosen experience. For some sessions, you might only need a water bottle and comfortable clothing. For others, particularly multi-day wilderness immersions, you may need everything required to survive a week in a wild camping spot. I always provide detailed kit lists tailored to your specific experience once it’s designed. I’ll bring maps, first aid equipment, fire pits, and other specialised items depending on the experience type. For static camps, I can arrange to bring all food and water required, or you can provide your own – this is something we’ll arrange together based on your preferences and the nature of your experience.
All experiences are private bookings, so you’re welcome to bring your chosen companions. I work with individuals, intimate pairs (perfect for couples or close friends), and small groups up to 6 people (4 at some locations depending on terrain and facilities). Only your group will be present, ensuring complete privacy for your shared journey. Group experiences can be particularly powerful for families, friends celebrating special occasions, or colleagues seeking shared adventure outside the usual team-building approaches.
That’s not a problem – it’s often an advantage. People new to wild spaces frequently stand to gain the most from these encounters because they approach them without preconceptions about what should or shouldn’t be possible. We’ll start exactly where you are and build from there. Your inexperience means you’re perfectly positioned to discover what becomes possible when you trust the process and show up authentically.
I can accommodate most dietary requirements and allergies with advance notice. This is particularly straightforward for experiences where I’m providing food or where we’re foraging together, as we can focus on plants and preparations that work for your needs. For longer experiences where you’re bringing your own food, simply let me know of any allergies or medical conditions during our initial planning conversation so I am aware and can ensure I don’t bring anything that you may be exposed to.
I welcome people aged 12 and above. All children remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian throughout the experience. I’ve had the privilege of working with people across the age spectrum – from teenagers discovering their first taste of wilderness confidence to my oldest participant at 84 years of age, who taught me as much as I offered her. Age is just a number when it comes to connecting with wild places; what matters is curiosity and willingness to engage with what calls to you.
Absolutely, as long as your healthcare provider is happy for you to do so, then so am I. I will create something suitable based on your needs. Everybody and every body is welcome here. Your ability, experience, or level of mobility is no barrier to these experiences. As a Disability Confident Registered provider, I understand that many approaches can be adapted for different needs and abilities. The wildness we’re reconnecting with isn’t about physical prowess – it’s about remembering your innate capacity for presence and authentic connection with the natural world. We’ll work together to create something that suits your individual needs and celebrates what you can do rather than focusing on limitations.
You sound like the perfect participant for these experiences. That mix of fear and curiosity is exactly what leads to the most profound discoveries. The terror you’re feeling isn’t about genuine danger – it’s about stepping beyond the familiar, and that’s precisely where growth lives. We’ll start exactly where you are, move at your pace, and honour what feels manageable whilst gently exploring your edges. Many of my most transformative sessions happen with people who arrive feeling exactly as you do right now.
Absolutely. This is your experience, and we’ll create something that suits you together. Fitness is just one way of relating to your body, and it’s not the most important one. What matters more is your willingness to show up as you are and work with what you have. I’ve seen people discover strength they didn’t know they possessed simply by being invited to move their bodies in natural settings without judgment or comparison. Your fitness level will inform how we design your experience, not whether you can participate.
I travel throughout Scotland, Cheshire, and North Wales & Borders, following the seasons and seeking out the places that offer what you’re looking for. Some experiences happen on private land where we can work with more intensive practices, whilst others utilise public access areas. The specific location depends on your chosen activities, the season, and what feels right for your particular journey. I’ll discuss location options with you during our planning conversation.
This isn’t something I can answer outright, and here’s why: This is Britain – we’re going to experience rain and inclement weather, and that weather is often part of the learning and transformation experience. Learning to work with rather than despite challenging conditions can be profound medicine. However, there’s an important distinction between weather that’s uncomfortable and weather that’s genuinely dangerous.
When conditions make certain activities dangerous rather than just challenging, safety always takes priority. In these cases, you’ll be offered an alternative experience that achieves the same outcomes – perhaps we move from exposed hilltops to sheltered valleys, or shift from water-based activities to forest skills. If we haven’t departed yet and conditions are severe enough to compromise safety entirely, we may need to delay for another time. The decision always comes down to whether the weather adds meaningful challenge or presents genuine risk.
Remember, some of the most transformative moments happen precisely when conditions aren’t perfect. There’s something powerful about discovering you can thrive when the sky opens and the wind howls. But I’ll never ask you to compromise your safety for the sake of an experience.
This varies by season and availability. I recommend booking at least 8 weeks in advance, particularly for longer experiences or if you have specific date requirements. However, I sometimes have availability for shorter-notice bookings, especially for half-day or single-day experiences. The planning conversation itself can take place well before your intended dates, allowing us to design something perfect for when you’re ready to embark.
If you’re asking this question, you’re already demonstrating the kind of self-awareness that suggests you’re ready. There’s no perfect time, no ideal fitness level, no required experience threshold. What matters is genuine curiosity about what might be possible when you step beyond the familiar. The wild doesn’t ask for perfection – it asks for presence. And that’s something you already possess.
