Body-Mind Experiences

“Your body knows things your mind hasn’t learnt yet. Let’s listen together.”

There’s a peculiar irony in our modern obsession with flexibility – we bend ourselves into pretzels, chasing poses that speak more to our ego than our wellbeing. But what if true strength lies not in touching your toes or achieving Instagram-worthy shapes, but in discovering the sweet spot where challenge meets sustainability, where growth happens without force?

My approach to body-mind work emerges from understanding that movement is medicine, but only when it serves your actual life rather than someone else’s expectations. As a competitive strongwoman living with chronic conditions, I’ve learnt that bodies need functional range of motion – not the kind that looks impressive, but the kind that keeps you living fully and injury-free.

Every class I teach adapts to your body, your goals, and your energy on the day. This is movement led by mindfulness, not ego. The goal isn’t perfection – it’s presence. We move with awareness, tuning into the body and mind in real time, discovering your personal edge rather than forcing yourself into predetermined shapes.

Whether we’re flowing through traditional yoga sequences, building focused strength through isometrics, or exploring weighted movement to challenge resilience, you decide which path suits you best on any given day. Feel strong? Go deeper. Feeling tired or tight? Ease off and soften. This flexibility isn’t about being accommodating – it’s about honouring the wisdom your body carries.

The atmosphere remains relaxed, supportive, and friendly. No mirrors, no competition, just focused movement and real progress toward greater control, less tension, and a sense of grounded vitality you carry into the rest of your life. I offer accessible adjustments for all – everyone and every body is welcome, regardless of ability, experience, or mobility level.

Movement and stillness dance together in my teaching. Regular dynamic practice balances with deeply restorative sessions that draw from Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Qigong, breathwork, and other meditative practices. These aren’t afterthoughts or consolation prizes for those who “can’t handle” more vigorous practice – they’re essential nervous system reset buttons.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply be still. In our culture that equates worth with productivity, learning to rest becomes a radical act of self-care. These gentler sessions invite you to drop into that space between waking and sleeping where the mind quiets and the body rests deeply, like pressing reset on your entire system.

This work asks essential questions: Are we stretching towards something meaningful, or simply performing for an audience that doesn’t truly matter? Are we honouring our body’s unique architecture, or trying to force ourselves into someone else’s idea of perfect posture?

Through somatic movement flows, we explore alignment that serves your life, your dreams, your daily reality. Too much flexibility can be as limiting as too little – hypermobile joints become unstable, vulnerable to the very injuries we’re trying to prevent. True stability comes from finding the balance between mobility and strength that your particular body needs.

With over 15 years’ experience in mindfulness-based approaches, I bring a rich background in therapeutic, accessible, and adaptive yoga. I am a 500-hour qualified teacher, with further training in Yin, Restorative, Nidra, Children’s Yoga, and Meditation, and am a registered Wellness Practitioner and Continuing Education Provider (GOYA ECYT-500, CYYT, CCEP, CMT, CRYT, WP). I’m also a full member of the Complementary Medical Association and listed on the Mindfulness Teachers Register.

This extensive training, combined with my background in rehabilitation, corrective exercise, personal training, and conditioning, informs every session. This isn’t just about moving your body – it’s about understanding how movement can be medicine, how breath can regulate your nervous system, how mindfulness can transform your relationship with physical sensation.

We approach yoga as corrective movement, targeting joint mobility, range of motion, and strength built from stability. Functional movement with therapeutic intention, always focused on sustainable, feel-good practices that support long-term health rather than short-term achievement.

The real work begins when class ends – carrying that sense of presence, that connection between breath and movement, that ability to listen to your body’s wisdom, into the complexity of daily life. These practices aren’t separate from living; they’re preparation for it.

Whether you arrive carrying the weight of the week or seeking to deepen an existing practice, whether you’re working with limitations or celebrating capabilities, there’s space here for what you need. Your body already knows how to heal, how to move, how to find its own perfect balance. These classes simply create the conditions for that remembering to occur.

Movement is medicine, but only when it serves your life rather than someone else’s expectations. Come as you are, breathe, rest, and reconnect.
