Terms & Conditions
I completely understand that T&Cs are rather boring, but they are also necessary to ensure that we operate safely, transparently, fairly, and in line with the law, our insurance policies, policies of any venues we hire, and any professional membership requirements.
Feral Therapy is operated in a way that looks to support its clients in their journey to wellness and education in nature ā be it the nature outside our homes or that within us. Therefore, we want to make sure everyone understands how we do that, why we do it, and ensure that everyone receives fair and equal treatment throughout the booking and participation process.
We also want to ensure that we treat the locations that we visit respectfully, responsibly, and sustainably. This is why some exact location details are not available until after booking. This prevents unannounced participants arriving at private or sensitive locations, groups becoming too large to be practical, or large enough to impact the environment/venue in an unsustainable way. It also prevents overbooking, payment/insurance/safety/comfort issues, and confusion on the day that may eat into session time.
We also want to be able to support you fully, so we need to know who is arriving and if there is anything we can do to make your time with us as enjoyable and as safe as possible.
A copy of our terms and conditions and, where applicable, the waiver form, will be emailed to you after booking. The waiver must be signed and returned prior to the event or a hard copy will be made available to sign on the day of the event.
By booking onto an event, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions (see below for waiver):
Payments/booking
- Events/workshops/group sessions: Where possible, bookings should be made and paid for using the appropriate listing in the shop on the Feral Therapy website or third party website where a payment option is made available. This is to ensure accuracy in available place numbers and to avoid over booking. In extenuating circumstances another payment method may be supplied at the discretion of the organiser (usually PayPal or bank transfer). Until monies are received, any interest in booking does not constitute a confirmed or secured ticket for any event, workshop, or session. Booking details will not be released until payment has been made. In cases where booking is split between Feral Therapy and a venue or other service provider, payment must be made to all parties to secure a booking. Full details on how to pay will be given.
- Booking for more than one participant: Please provide details of any participants you have booked a ticket for. This will ensure that the organiser can communicate with them and provide any necessary information or documentation directly. This also ensures only paid ticket holders are able to attend and that any needs they may have are met where possible.
- Classes: Where classes are run on a pay as you go basis (e.g. some yoga classes) payment can be made in cash on arrival, bank transfer, or PayPal. For electronic payments, these should be made before the class begins.
- Private sessions: Payment can be made in cash on arrival, bank transfer, or PayPal. For electronic payments, these should be made before the session begins.
- Private events: For private events, preference would be given to PayPal or bank transfer on receipt of an invoice from Feral Therapy. A non-refundable deposit of 20% can be made to secure a booking, and any outstanding balance payments should be made a week before the event takes place. Failure to make a balance payment will result in loss of the booking and non-refundable deposit.
- Waivers: Some events require the signing of a waiver. This will be made available to view prior to booking and must be signed before the event can begin.
- Children / animals: Some events may be suitable for children or dogs, others may not. This will be clearly stated on the event information. Anyone bringing a person under the age of 18 or their pet agrees to be fully responsible for their care and safety during the session.
Cancellations
- No Refunds: Once a booking is confirmed, refunds will not be issued under any circumstances unless an event is cancelled or rescheduled by the organiser.
- Cancellation Credit: If event attendance is cancelled by the customer, no refund will be provided. However, a credit may be offered for future bookings at the discretion of the event organiser, subject to availability and terms.
- Rescheduling: Credits granted for cancellations must be used to reschedule within a specific time frame, typically within 6 months of the original event date.
- Cancellation for breach of T&Cs: Anyone being refused entry to a session or asked to leave a session for breach of any terms and conditions will not be eligible for any refund.
- Transfer of booking: If a customer wishes to transfer a booking to another party, this may be arranged at the discretion of the organiser. If granted, full details of the transferred attendant must be provided to the organiser in order to facilitate direct communication and provision of necessary information and documentation.
- Feral Therapy reserves the right to refuse participation to any event. If this occurs at booking, a refund will be issued. If this occurs during an event, no refund will be given.
Attendance
- Before the session begins: A register will be taken to ensure that only participants who have booked and paid are present. Anyone who has not booked and paid will be asked to leave before the session begins unless tickets are still available and payment can be made promptly before the session starts. A safety briefing will then take place. All participants are responsible for adhering to the advice given by the session leader.
- Behaviour: Feral Therapy operates a zero tolerance policy on inappropriate behaviour towards others. This includes foul language, threatening or aggressive behaviour, hate speech, or any speech that causes offense to the session leader or other participant. This includes comments about ā age, appearance, gender, ability, disability, health, sexuality, personal status, pregnancy/breastfeeding (welcomed here!), religion or beliefs. Any breaches of these terms will result in being asked to leave an event without a refund and prevent any future bookings. Serious incidents will be reported to the police.
- Support: Should you have an issue during an event that you would like to discuss privately with the leader but do not wish to voice in front of others, please say āAnna just messaged meā and the leader will speak to you away from other participants making it appear that they are assisting an absent participant with you.
- Event activities: Activities are organised with full mindfulness of participant safety. However, each participant must be responsible for their own safety and well-being:
- Health: The participant understands that the event may be physically demanding and that they should not have any known medical issues that will affect their ability to perform the activities safely. Participants should not under the influence of alcohol or drugs ā this will result in being asked to leave the event immediately without a refund.
- Disabilities / additional needs: Feral Therapy welcomes participants who identify as disabled or having additional needs. This should be discussed with the event leader prior to booking. Where at all possible, the organiser will make reasonable adjustments, but there may be occasions where safety must be considered and participation may not be possible. Alternatives may be recommended or arranged where possible.
- Allergies: Any allergies that a participant feels may be triggered during an event should be discussed with the organiser prior to booking.
- Dress code: The participant understands that they are responsible for dressing appropriately for the season and weather during outdoor events and appropriately for indoor events and classes. Should a session leader deem clothing to be unsuitable for the safety of the participant or others, they may be asked to leave the session without a refund.
- Food and drink: Unless the organiser has expressly informed participants that food and drink is available, participants must supply their own refreshments.
- Risk: The participant understands that an event may carry risk and that there is a possibility of injury. This will be minimised by a risk assessment and safety briefing, but participants are responsible for following this guidance and limiting risks to themselves.
- Equipment: The participant agrees to use any equipment supplied as instructed and to return it at the end of the event.
- Safety: The participant agrees to attend safety briefings and follow the rules and safety regulations.
- Liability: The participant agrees to assume responsibility for themselves and any others in their care, including any injuries, death, or loss of property.
- Emergency care: The participant agrees that the event organisers can arrange for emergency medical treatment on their behalf and administer first aid until medical care arrives.
- Transportation: The participant may acknowledge that they are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.
- Participation: The participant acknowledges that some practical aspects of the event may be compulsory ā e.g. walking ā but that any participation in non-compulsory activities or demonstrations are voluntary and at the risk and responsibility of the participant.
Transfer of information / confidentiality
- Transfer of information: At no point are participants welcome to transfer supporting information or documentation supplied to attendees only, e.g. booking information, handbooks, PDFs, private land locations not supplied before booking.
- Confidentiality: Any personal information provided to Feral Therapy will be kept confidential for the purpose of booking, attendance, and follow up support. It will never be transferred to a third party except in cases of emergency medical assistance where home address or other information provided by the participant may be helpful to the safety or care of the participant or where the session leader believes that a participant is a risk to themselves or others.
No participant should ever divulge any information about another participant to anyone outside of the participating group without their consent. This includes any divulged medical conditions, allergies, personal information or inclusion in photographs or videos. Photos and video are permitted by the organiser, but anyone who wishes to not be included should be respected. Failure to respect others will result in being asked to leave the event and prevent future bookings.
Complaints
- Any complaints about the services provided by Feral Therapy should be directed to the event leader either in person during the event or after the event directly in writing via email or phone call. Contact information will be provided when booking.
- Any complaints or concerns about another participant should be directed to the event leader as soon as possible, preferably during the event so they can take appropriate action.
General
- All events, classes, and workshops are run as informative and educational activities. Attendance or completion of a session does not constitute formal training or qualification.
- Any information given during events/sessions does not constitute medical advice and is not intended to replace medical treatment. In some circumstances, your GPās approval may be required.
- How information covered during an event is used by a participant after the session is entirely at their own risk.
