Time: 7pm-9pm
Location: Madeley, Staffs, CW3 (exact event location will be emailed to you on booking, it is in a central location in the village)
This two-hour session will cover:
Drying, freezing, infusing, and other methods of preserving herbs, fruit, and plants, as well as recipes for making oils, balms, teas, decoctions, liqueurs, syrups, and tinctures.
We’ll talk about methods, equipment, and ingredients, the benefits of herbs/ingredients, and then look at recipes for making edible products, remedies, and skincare preparations.
The class is a perfect follow-up for those who have attended my foraging courses, but is also suitable for anyone who has an interest in cookery, crafting, herbs, home remedies, skincare, or natural products and nature living.
It will also be of interest to those who practice bushcraft, as many of these recipes can be made simply while camping or outdoors or used as natural first aid.
Once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll be able to come up with your own recipes using your favourite ingredients, things that you grow, or find in the wild.
You’ll learn how to make simple products to reduce food waste, stock up your pantry or bathroom cabinet, and bring wonderful flavours and aromas into your life or the life of others. The session is being run in perfect time to make homemade herbal gifts for Christmas.
You’ll also get to taste some wild teas during the session, sample some products, and join in with practical demonstrations.
Everyone who attends will receive a PDF book that covers everything we have talked about as well as a guide to foraging local wild ingredients.
This event is strictly limited to six attendees per session and pre-booking is essential.
